We know that art has a message, but what if it was a game? As NFTs continue to merge contrasting worlds, we’re seeing a representation of creators who know nothing about the digital space — and those who are immersed in all things tech. We support both. Check out this digital fire-side chat with emerging creator, KaT.

This is KaT’s story

I saw something on the web about NFTs the same day my wife said something about them, so I dug deep and found Hic(web) on Tezos $xtz and jumped in and bought a few digital pizza slices, fortune dragons, and skulls. Got some nice works on the ETH side like hearty homies and nifty cats.

I tossed my hat in the ring and started doing the Jimmie series (my daughter picked the name).

Jimmie is a hand-drawn, old school style cartoon cat on glass, which is then digitized and put into different places and ideas, with different techniques and models to choose from. I’m currently working through the series and learning new ideas and aspects of the minting and usage of NFTs.

Hidden in the NFTs are puzzles. I love to do cryptograms and hashblocks… IQ puzzles and such. Hidden in the #jimmies and quite a few others are messages or hidden images. If you can crack the code or message, you could win something free just by holding the token and giving me the answer via any medium you can find me on. I like 1/1 for series and large editions for special events.

Do you remember your first NFT sale?

Yah, it was just the other day.

I was in the middle of minting some Jimmies, and the Tezo bot on Telegram went off. I have it set to watch some addys and thought it was strange for a late night drop.

Well, it was my first because I had shilled it on Discord and was full-blown going to the next mint. I didn’t even see that someone had said something and scooped it up. THANK YOU again!

Sold a few more on the #HEN10k event... My daughter has bought a few Jimmies as well and loves them.

What’s your process to create NFTs?

Yeah, it’s a secret. Never teach the wu-tang! The notebook I wrote the idea down on is somewhere on my desk. It started out as a few loose ideas and then it became better after each one, because if you have no progress, why are you still doing this? I am currently using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects, a little bit of DaVinci and some AI painting in the works.

What do you do for fun?

I fly FPV ultralight weight (most under 100g) analog DVRs. I was introduced to it from a friend and was hooked. Now I do wings and kwads. There are a lot of interesting places you can stick a 65mm whoop and get away with it.

What’s your wish for the NFT community?

Same thing everyone wants “WORLD PEACE?!” what???

“Jimmie woke up to H=n000k!”

To the moon Alice… let’s pack your moon walkers and air Hashtags, charge up your iPod, your iPhones, all your digital devices, and let’s get it on!!!!

Of course everyone wants that, but for realistic goals, I want clear USAGE rights. If I buy a 1/1, I expect it to be MINE.

I would like to be able to make a t-shirt or a HUGE ASS wall print and chill with it. Let’s get that far before we even talk about commercial usage.

Anything else we should know about you?

No, I think I said it all up there in the babbling. I am not a speech writer or even a grammar major, so blast the period commas and speak your mind and keep up with whatever you’re doing. Arrrrgh!!
